I had these goggles for a year and a half before they magically disappeared on me. The strap finally began to fray at the end, but it's an elastic band - not hard or expensive to replace. The silicon was easy to clean, as were the lenses. I usually wore them on my head, and it would be hours before it became uncomfortable to wear. I wore those suckers everywhere. I was under the impression that the X plates would already be screwed in place. I was wrong. The screws on one side unscrewed just fine, and were pretty loose to start. The other side was another story. I struggled to unscrew 4 of the 5 screws, and the last one wouldn't budge at all. I ended up stripping the 5th screw, so now there's no way possible for me to unscrew it to get the other plate in.

Also, I was under the impression that the the X's were symmetrical. Again; wrong. One line of each X is shorter than the other line that crosses it. It just doesn't quite look right in my opinion. But that's just a personal preference.

The strap is way too tight. I have a pretty small head, and yet with the strap fully extended I still feel like it's crushing my skull.

The original lenses that came with it are either scraped up or have some sort of hard-to-remove gunk stuck to them. It doesn't affect the vision, but you can see the marks pretty easily when looking at them, which kills the aesthetic appeal.

I believe that if the screws had worked as they were supposed to, I would have rated 5 stars. As it is, my options are to either have one plate, or no plates at all, which is a bit underwhelming. The goggles themselves are great, but I also wish the lenses weren't scraped up.

All-in-all, I wasn't as excited with my purchase after opening it as I was when they dropped it off at my doorstep.

*Owner reply* - Josh, my apologies usually the X plates are pre-installed onto the goggles. Since you had wanted the extra slide designs I decided last minute to leave them off, so you could choose whether to use the metal plates, or slide design.

However, if I were able to rate 5 stars for customer service, I would! Jeff was super nice, and even called me when these were in stock at my request. He dealt with my E-mails quickly and efficiently, and he shipped the goggles to me as soon as possible. He's a great salesman, but my product was bit messed up. (Posted on 8/5/11)

'These are the beyond tough, beyond stylish, and work as well on the face as they do at holding the hair back. I applaud the creator of the goggles for his fine craftsmanship and design, the team of Obscuria for efficiently getting my order out, and USPS for getting the item to me on time. First off, this is a good company with a good owner. They definitely show they care every step of the way and ensure a good business experience. Delivery was a little long, but that's the postal system. Obscuria shipped the product right when they said they would. As for the actual product, the goggles are wonderful. I am telling you, you will not find quality like this on an item of this nature anywhere else online. They are built as industrial as they look, and create an ultra pleasent wearing experience. As the world's foremost gothic surgeon, I have tried just about every pair of Hand-made Gothic Medical Cyber Goggles on the market. All I can say is the difference is astounding. The hand-made cyberpunk goggles my assistant gave me for the summer solstice couldn't hold up under the rigorous demands of congress with the horned- one.
Hands down, dollar for dollar these are without a doubt hand-made gothic medical cyber goggles. The strap felt confortable, but at the same time allowed me to concentrate on the cyber surgery at hand. The soft rubber lining allows my eyes to breathe while, keeping bodily fluids out.

These goggles are the best in quality that i've found on the web. May not be in alot of peoples price range but you get what you pay for.. The only problem that I got is that you can't click on the extra slide design. So don't forget to specify on the extra slide. Other than that Obscuria shippes fast and is well packed.
